Ramey Tasting

October 23, 2019 5:00 pm

Join us for a comprehensive tasting of Ramey’s new release with David Fischer, Chief Operation Officer.

Ramey makes some of the best Chardonnay in California, full stop. The operation out of Healdsburg, Sonoma, is run by owner and winemaker David Ramey, who is regarded as one of the pioneers of winemaking in the the US. At a time when many winemakers were producing cellar-made wines, David brought the focus on terroir back into the fold. He started to use indigenous yeast and do malolactic barrel fermentations, creating a unique style (now emulated by many) of wines that was rich, balanced, and characterful. David made side-project wines while he worked at Dominus and Rudd, but finally branched out on his own to exclusively focus on his own label. David and his wife Carla are now joined by their daughter Carla and son Alan who’ve joined the team. Ramey also makes a serious collection of red wines from Cabernet Sauvignon and also Syrah. These are quintessentially Californian wines that known for their balance and finesse.
